 Individual Counselling

_____

Transformative personal development

Individual therapy will help to create self-awareness, improve regulation, build resilience and trust in yourself. By examining patterns from early life and familial relationships, we will shift negative beliefs and restore a sense of calm and confidence. It’s when we are in this state that we are able to forge loving and lasting relationships.

Couples & Relationships

_____

From defence to connection

At NSCA, we understand that each individual has a fundamental drive for connection and a primal need to be seen. However, this need often shows up in our relationships in maladaptive ways. Hurt and misunderstanding is at the core of relational conflict.  NSCA’s couples and relationship counselling provides the opportunity to recognize  problematic patterns, identify their origins and facilitate new experiences to cultivate trust,  understanding, and security. We’ll assist you in making informed decisions and how to both ask and receive love in healthier and more adaptive ways. As we strengthen these relationships, you’ll also be optimizing your individual development.

We define relationships as any significant form of attachment (can include a friendship, co-parent, grandparents, uncles, aunts, etc.).

Family Counselling

_____

Creating secure and sustained connections

Our relationship with our family is one of the most primal and impactful ones we hold. In this relationship, we co-create our core belief systems and identity.

Much of the conflict we see in families is the result of deep misunderstanding, maladaptive behaviours, and unmet emotional needs. In family therapy we will help you to deepen understanding of each other’s behaviours and  reactions, develop new systems for communicating that will promote trust and healthy  patterns, and improved mental health for all members. As we strengthen family connection, you’ll also be optimizing your individual development.
